Banstead Athletic, who have a proud history of playing in the Ryman League and also in the FA Vase, are now just a single point away from clinching the Division One championship and with it promotion back to the Premier Division.
At the present time Redhill can equal Banstead's total but have to rely upon winning their remaining games and hoping Banstead lose all theirs. They would also have to turn over a goal difference of 16, which in itself may not be out of the question, given their 12-0 thrashing of Epsom Athletic on Wednesday evening.
Banstead are without a match on Saturday but a point at South Park Reserves on Easter Monday will clinch the title for them. It has been a great season for the club as they also have the Final of the Surrey Premier Cup to look forward to, an all CCL affair this season, with Worcester Park providing the opposition at Sutton United on Friday 28 April, 7.45 p.m.
