Buildbase FA Vase

1st Round Proper Drawn

It was possibly a little disappointing overall but 12 CCL clubs were in the draw for the 1st Round Proper of the Buildbase FA Vase, to be played on Saturday 12 October, or over that weekend. That includes both Southall and Sutton Common Rovers who were exempt until the 1st Round Proper stage. We also have Abbey Rangers entering at the 2nd Round stage.

League leaders Ascot United saw off fellow CCLers Frimley Green in a very local contest, whilst in another all-CCL match, Badshot Lea maintained their good form, winning 4-2 at Cobham. In yet another all CCL tie, two late goals from Division One Bagshot gave Redhill a fright but the Lobsters saw the game out with a 4-3 win.

Well done to Westside in their first season at Step 6 who saw off Bexhill to reach the 1st Round for the first time.
Bedfont & Feltham were another Div One side to do well, winning 4-0 against Bedford, with Michael Capon hitting another hatrick.

Two matches did not reach a conclusion, with Knaphill drawing two apiece at home to Tunbridge Wells and they now face a replay at Tunbridge on Tuesday evening.

The match between Molesey and Greenwich Borough sadly had to be abandoned on 80 minutes following a severe injury suffered by the Greenwich keeper. We obviously wish him well in his recovery.

The 1st Round Draw was made today and here are the ties involving CCL clubs:

Southall v Knaphill or Tunbridge Wells
Egham Town v Binfield
Raynes Park Vale v Horndean
Westside v Deal Town
Bedfont & Feltham v Colliers Wood United
Sporting Club Thamesmead v Ascot United
Fisher v Molesey or Greenwich Borough
Mile Oak v Redhill
Sutton Common Rovers v Snodland Town
Westbury United v Badshot Lea

Where next?
