Hartley Wintney up to Step 4

The point gained at Chertsey Town on Saturday in a nil-nil draw was all that was needed by Hartley Wintney to clinch their second championship in successive seasons, with five matches to spare. The Championship Trophy will be presented to them on Saturday 15 April at their home match against Sutton Common Rovers.

There are double celebrations as the ground improvements carried out by the Club have enabled them to be awarded the necessary E-grade, and they will now take their place in the National League System at Step 4 for the first time ever. It seems certain that their destiny will be the Southern League but whether it will be in the Central Division or the South & West Division will not be known until the FA release their allocation lists in May.

The League sends its congratulations to Hartley Wintney upon their achievements and wishes them well as they make the step up.
