Drainage Works at Guildford City

Two matches changed

Guildford City suffered problems last season when an obstinate corner of their pitch simply refused to drain resulting in a significant number of postponements.

With the problem now identified, the League has agreed, in the greater interest, that the required work can be carried out during the latter part of October and early November. As a result, and thanks to the co-operation of their opponents, Guildford’s home match on 31 October against Horley Town has been put back to 16 January, whilst their away match against Horley will now take place on Tuesday 27 October. It wasn’t possible to simply switch the fixtures due to Dorking sharing at Horley, the latter already having a home match scheduled for Saturday 31 October.

It was easier to switch the matches between Guildford and Bedfont Sports so that, now, Guildford will travel to Bedfont Sports on Saturday 7 November, with the fixture reversed on Saturday 6 February.

Guildford are due to be away on both Saturday 14 and 21 November which will allow all the rok to be completed and the pitch fully restored prior to the next home game against Camberley Town on Saturday 28 November.
