No further interest in FA Cup

Spelthorne go down

In a poor year as far as the FA Cup is concerned, the League's final survivors, Spelthorne Sports succumbed to a heavy defeat at home to Erith Town on Saturday, losing 1-5, despite taking the lead. Perhaps the exciting replay on the Tuesday against Raynes Park Vale took it's toll but that's it for another season as far as the CCL is concerned.

There was a full league programme on Saturday, with Chertsey maintaining their 100% record with their 3-1 victory over Horley.

There are just two other clubs still to taste defeat in the Premier Division, namely Abbey Rangers, who acquired a further three points with a close win over AFC Hayes, 1-0, whilst Banstead, also unbeaten, fought out a 1-1 draw at home to Southall.

The match with the most goals was at Walton & Hersham who cannot get their season up and running, and it was another defeat with in-form Redhill winning by 5 goals to 3.

In Division One, two of the relegated clubs ar starting to make their presence felt, with both recording further wins, although both were close, with Farnham notching the only goal of the game at home to Chessington & Hook, whilst Cove put up a good fight at Epsom & Ewell losing to a late goal, 2-3.

Last season's basement club, Bagshot, seem to be getting things together as they recorded a further win at Fleet Spurs, who had enjoyed two excellent cup wins leading up to the match.

After conceding six at home to Epsom in midweek, AC London bounced back with a 4-1 win at Godalming Town, whilst a late equaliser from Ash United pegged back Bedfont & Feltham who had to be content with a draw, 3-3.

There is a switch of fixture on Tuesday. Walton & Hersham were scheduled to play at home to Colliers Wood United but the ground is now required by Walton Casuals for an FA Cup replay. As a result and thanks to good co-operation all round, the match will now be played at Colliers Wood United and become their home match.

Matches in the League's two senior cups are starting to be played and there is one this week, on Wednesday, when FC Deportivo Galicia entertain Cove on Wednesday evening.
