Happy Christmas to All

On this, the last Saturday before Christmas, the League would like to wish you a happy Christmas as we go into the second half of the season. Despite a hiccup over the last two weeks, the weather has generally been fine so at present there are no backlogs. The target is always for clubs to play half their fixtures at least before the New Year so we should make that in the vast majority of cases.

There is close to a full programme today (Sat 23 December), with only Walton & Hersham and Colliers Wood United free, as their match was brought forward and played in September by mutual agreement.

Westfield will be looking for revenge away to Redhill, having surprisingly lost at home to them a few weeks ago, whilst second placed Bedfont Sports make the very short trip to meet Hanworth Villa, in a match that can reasonably be labelled "Match of the Day" certainly in the Prem. We send Dave Sturt of Bedfont our best wishes for a full recovery as he recovers from illness that saw him hospitalised. He is now out of hospital and recovering at home although he has had to give up his Match Secretary's post for the moment.

Down at the bottom, Epsom & Ewell need to start winning if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation but it looks a tough ask today as they play their local derby away to Horley Town, the League's sole remaining presence in the FA Vase.

In Division One, Worcester Park have been looking invincible lately, seeing off all comers, and they will be seeking three more points as they entertain mid-table Farleigh Rovers.

The top match in Division One though must be Badshot Lea playing at home to Cobham, with both clubs enjoying a very successful period at the moment.

All the matches are listed in the fixtures section of the website, with another full round of games to come next Saturday.

There is just one match in midweek and another local derby on Wednesday 27 December when Frimley welcome visitors Ash United, kick-off 7.45 p.m.
