Preview Saturday 13 January

Full programme on Saturday

It's another full day scheduled for tomorrow in the League and the first thing to note for anyone attending Balham's match at home to Chertsey Town is that the kick-off has been brought forward to 2.00 p.m. as there is a problem with the floodlights, which may not be fixed in time.

The four clubs at the top of the Premier Division have opened a gap in recent weeks between themselves and the chasing pack and of the four, the toughest match seems to be the one facing Walton & Hersham who travel to Hanworth Villa.

At the foot of the table it looks almost make or break time for Epsom & Ewell who travel to second bottom Godalming Town. Who would have expected those two to be at the foot of the League at this stage back at the start of the season?

In Division One, a close affair looks probable at Raynes Park Vale who entertain Cobham, both clubs seeking promotion. Worcester Park suffered their first loss for a long time last week and will be hoping to get back on track at home to Frimley Green but they have also enjoyed good form recently so it will not be easy.

There is one cup match, with Sheerwater entertaining Farleigh Rovers in the 2nd Round of the exotically named Esoteric Recordings Division One Challenge Cup. This one has a 1.30 p.m. kick-off, with the winners drawn at home to Eversley & California in the quarter finals.

Many clubs will be holding a minute's silence tomorrow in memory of Ken Reed, who sadly died last Monday. Ken was the current Secretary of Sutton Common Rovers and spent myriad years at Cobham before that. He was also a serving club rep on the Management Committee and will be sadly missed.
