Manager Paul Tanner resigns

Long serving Farnham Town manager Paul Tanner, pictured above, has resigned his position.

The club issued the following statement: It is with huge regret that we have reluctantly accepted the resignation of Farnham Town manager Paul Tanner. We would like to thank him for all his hard work over the past eight seasons and wish him well for the future.

Paul was manager for eight seasons, the highlight of which was arguably winning the League's Premier Challenge Cup in 2016 when they beat favourites Camberley Town. He also, though, was in charge when Farnham were promoted back to the Premier Division at the end of season 2010-2011.

This season, the club has struggled and with three clubs likely to be relegated at the end, Farnham have work to do if they are to avoid the drop.

Replacing Tanner is another Paul, Paul Bonner, who the writer thought was the Paul Bonner who used to manage Ash United but advice has been given that it's a different Paul Bonner, in which case apologies.
