FA Vase and Other Cup Ties

In the 16 matches involving CCL clubs in the FA Vase on Saturday, 7 got through, 7 lost and there are 2 replays this week. On Sunday Epsom & Ewell also bowed out 0-3 away to Horsham

Both the replays involve clubs in Division One, namely Abbey Rangers who travel to Holyport on Tuesday evening, after neither side could score or break the deadlock on Saturday even after extra time, and Banstead Athletic who head to Kent to meet Seven Acre and Sidcup, after a 2-2 draw on Saturday, when a goal right at the death for Banstead kept their hopes alive.

The two Cherry Red Records Premier Cup ties both went in favour of the Premier Division sides leaving Redhill and Westfield to take their place in the 2nd Round the bulk of which will be played on Tuesday 13th October.

This week also sees Cove travelling to Conference club Eastleigh on Tuesday in the 2nd Round of the Hampshire Senior Cup,following their win, albeit on penalties, against Cowes (IOW) in the 1st Round. The match has been brought forward rather inconveniently as Cove already had a match this week, to satisfy the demands of the Conference. No check was made to see if the new date was convenient for Cove and the CCL but little we can do about it.
