Quarter Final Draw on Monday 21 January

We now know five of the Premier Challenge Cup quarter-finalists following Tuesday’s results and included amongst them are holders Knaphill, who are looking to retain the trophy they won last season. There was a bit of a shock brewing it seemed, when visitors Fleet Town from Division One took the lead but George Dorley scored in the second half to level matters up, followed by two late goals from Sheridan Campbell sent the Knappers through.

In other ties Bedfont & Feltham showed their credentials with the only goal of the match away to AFC Hayes who have been in good form lately. It was yet another goal from Michael Capon, way out in the goal scorers’ list in Division One who did the trick.

Banstead though, also away to Division One opposition, enjoyed a solid 3-0 win at Sheerwater, whilst arguably the shock of the night came at Chertsey where 4th place Abbey Rangers won 2-1, both goals coming from Brad Thomas, the second one arriving in the closing minutes after Abbey had come under terrific pressure beforehand. An attendance of 172 witnessed this local derby.

In the other match, another very local derby between Spelthorne Sports and Hanworth Villa saw the latter secure the only goal of the game from Cyril Ocansey to go through.

Two of the other three remaining matches are taking place this evening whilst the tie between Epsom & Ewell and Godalming Town is scheduled for 12 February.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals will take place at the next Management Meeting on Monday 21 January and will be published the following day.
