FA Allocations for season 2019-2020

Received Today

The FA Allocation of clubs for next season (19-20) was revealed today and the CCL welcomes five different clubs from last season into the League.

Not all are new to the League as both Egham Town and Molesey return to the competition following their relegation from Step 4. Brand new to the Premier Division though are Ascot United who have been moved from the Hellenic League, where they finished in 7th place last season. Nobody had forecasted that one but we are pleased to welcome them, as indeed we are both Egham and Molesey. Sheerwater make up the constitution having been promoted as Division One champions.

In Division One, there are two newcomers, one being Westside, promoted from the Surrey Elite League in which they finshed in 4th place. They will be ground sharing at Chessington & Hook United next season after moving from AFC Croydon Athletic.

The other is Jersey Bulls FC as they become the second Channel Islands club to join the Non-League System.

Both clubs will receive a warm welcome from the League.

Sadly we lose two of our staunchest members, namely Horley Town who have been moved sideways to the Southern Combination, and Cove FC rather surprisingly relegated to the Hampshire Premier League.

Also leaving us but under happier circumstances are Chertsey Town who have been promoted to Step 4 and will play in the Bostik South Central Division.

The League had hoped that Frimley Green might be promoted as well as Sheerwater from Division One to the Premier but that hasn't been the case, whilst we were also hoping that the application by Bracknell Town Reserves to join Division One would be successful but sadly not. The FA has told us that there were no further vacancies.

Following their relegation from the Premier Division, it had been envisaged that AFC Hayes might be moved into the Spartan South Midlands League but that has not been the case and they will remain with us, but in Division One next season.

It will be ratified tomorrow evening at a Management Meeting but league matches are likely to start on Saturday 3 August. It is early but the FA Cup starts the following week and most clubs prefer to have a league match or two under their belts beforehand.
