Bedfont & Feltham Manager departs

Report from Rob Healy, at Bedfont & Feltham

Manager Adam Bessent (pictured)has resigned from his managerial and committee roles with immediate effect. Assistant Manager Jake Bessent and Physio Andy Nolan will also be leaving.

Adam has been manager at Step six for 6 years and he is keen for his team to take on new challenges. He took over from Dan Huxley in May 2018 and clocked-up his 100th match in charge back in October 2020 v AFC Hayes.

Adam's resignation follows a number of shock exits from the club's Management Committee, including the recent departure of Brian Barry, and the impending departure of Scott Savoy.

Adam says:

With so many changes off the pitch, it is clear that the club is in a transition period, I feel now is the right time to part ways and give the club ample opportunity to find a replacement before the 2021/22 season.

I'd like to thank all those that have supported the management and players over the last 3 years, especially outgoing chairman Brian Barry, we couldn't have done our jobs without him. For the majority, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the club and will have fond memories. We would like to thank all the players that represented the club during our time, whether one game or closing in on 100, your efforts will always be much appreciated. I was proud to become the longest serving manager with just over 100 games whilst breaking some records along the way.

Thank you again and I wish the club all the best for the future.

The club wish to place on record their thanks to Adam, Jake and Andy; and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.
