FA Vase hopes rest on three

By Admin ccl

Jersey Bulls, Ascot United and Harefield all make it into the last 16

With the 4th Round of the FA Vase finally completed, we are left with three of our clubs in the final 16.

Ascot United have been in imperious form and found themselves in the West Country to play Western League Buckland Athletic. Buckland, whose hospitality was praised by Ascot , found themselves three down before they picked up a consolation near the end but could not prevent Ascot winning by three goals to one.

Harefield had also travelled in the same direction, this time to North Somerset to play ex-Southern League side Clevedon Town. The Hares did not have it easy and found themselves two down, only to come roaring back to secure a 2-2 draw and then won 3-1 on penalties.
Well done all round and our two victorious clubs now join Jersey Bulls in the 5th Round on Saturday 11 February.

This is the draw:

Jersey Bulls have another tough, very tough tie away to the current holders, Newport Pagnell Town. The squeezed through by the narrowest of margins on Saturday with a win on penalties over Leighton Town.
Harefield have received a home draw in which they will face Egham’s conquerors yesterday, namely Peacehaven & Telscombe from the Southern Combination.

Finally Ascot United will also be on the road, away to Bridgwater United who overcame the challenge of Erith Town on Saturday.
Good luck to all our sides with the 5th Round due to be played on Saturday 11 February.

Sadly we lost Egham Town to the challenge of Peacehaven but they can take great pride in reaching this stage of the competition.
