FA Competitions Delayed

Message from the FA

The following message was received today from the FA which has been sent direct to all clubs who entered one or more of the relevant competitions.

The FA has already said that the usual date for the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup has to go ahead "for contactual purposes" on its normal date in November so whether or not any of the preliminary or qulaifying rounds will have to be scrapped, we don't know at the moment.

This is the message that has been sent to all clubs who entered:

To: All Clubs applied for FA Competitions Season 2020/21

Good Afternoon,

We have received an application from your Club for one or more of the below FA Competitions for the 2020-21 season;

The Emirates FA Cup
The Buildbase FA Trophy
The Buildbase FA Vase
The FA Youth Cup

Ordinarily details on the structure of each Competition would be released by The FA in the early part of July, this would include the list of accepted Clubs, Competition format, Round Dates, exemptions, Rules and the draws for the early Rounds. However, due to the current ongoing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be in a position to confirm these details until there is more certainty around the 2020-21 season and when it will commence at both a Professional and National Game level.

We will continue to liaise with the relevant parties on the options to ensure the best outcome is delivered across all Competitions for the 2020-21 season.

We will provide a further update as and when we are in a position to do so.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.
