Fleet Spurs Secure New Lease

Statement from Chairman Kierin Gurrie

I am absolutely delighted to officially announce that after Thursdays Hart District Councils full meeting Fleet Spurs have secured a new 15-year lease for our site at Kennels Lane. This new lease will replace the temporary lease we have had in place since our original 10-year term expired.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our club secretary Richard Wyborn, for the many hours of work he has put into the difficult and prolonged negotiation progress. I know that at times the process has been fraught and frustrating and to finally reach the point where we have now secured the next 15-years at Southwood will enable the club to actively begin to develop the many plans we have to improve our facility.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will be looking to reach out to our players, parents and supporters old and new to actively support fundraising activities round the club and to seek out sponsorship opportunities which will help us to achieve our aims. When the time is right, and it is safe to do so I will also be asking for commitment to support site clean-up and maintenance days, as they say many hands make light work !

Fleet Spurs continued aim is to remain a positive and progressive club which provides more than just football for our members and with this new lease in place we have secured a bright future at our home facility

Well done to Richard and those who supported him throughout this process. Now on with the football !

Regards

Kierin
