Two through, three to replay

Five CCL clubs are still in the Emirates FA Cup after the weekend's matches in the 1st Qualifying Round.

Two are definitely through to the 2nd Qualifying Round, namely Abbey Rangers and Jersey Bulls. Both advanced in fine style with Abbey enjoying a resounding 5-0 win against Chatham Town, a Step 4 side until recently and now in the Southern Counties East. Chatham had previously only lost one league match and are in 7th place, so it was an excellent win.

Abbey's reward is a 2nd Qualifying Round tie at home to Marlow, who are unbeaten at present in the Isthmian League at Step 4, so it will be another major challenge for Abbey.

Jersey Bulls saw off the challenge of VCD Athletic, members of the South East Division of the Isthmian League, in 7th place. Late goals saw Jersey pull off a 5-1 win. Their reward is an intriguing away tie against Sutton Common Rovers.

Three more CCL clubs lived to fight another day, namely Redhill who drew at home to Sevenoaks Town, Walton & Hersham who scored late on to draw with Beaconsfield Town and Spelthorne Sports in a very local derby against Bedfont Sports, with a late goals also coming to their rescue.

The replays are this week with Bedfont playing on the Wednesday evening, and the other two on Tuesday evening.

There were narrow defeats for Fleet Town, Ascot United and Balham

The league matches scheduled on 18 September between Jersey Bulls and Frimley and Abbey against St. Panteleimon are both postponed
