Guildford City manager Dean Thomas has been busy this week attempting to strengthen his side in a concerted bid to rise up the league table. The side Dean inherited upon accepting the job nearly four weeks ago consisted of barely half a dozen players.
Gradually players have been introduced to the squad and supporters have been impressed with the free-flowing style the side has shown. In the last three games however too many goals have been conceded and earlier this week defensive steel was added to the squad in the form of Harry Driver and Martin Dynan.
Today Dean completes a busy week by announcing two further squad additions. More defensive strength is added with the acquisition of 21 year old centre-back Bradley Pegg from Westfield. Pegg came through the Aldershot Town Youth system and gained experience playing in the reserves. After a loan spell at Thatcham Town, Pegg moved to Sweden and over two years played for Junsele, Hoga Kusten and Gottne FC. He joined Westfield at the start of this season and made seven appearances.
Meanwhile competition for the forward places is added with the acquisition of 19 year old Nathan Chambers, initially on a dual registration basis from Farnborough Town. Chambers is a lightning fast striker with Ryman Premier experience, and he is another to have developed his career overseas. In his case in France with AJ Auxerre and AS Cannes.
