Hartley March On

They've Got Form!

Two seasons ago, Hartley Wintney were the League's final surviving club in the FA Cup when, on this equivalent weekend back in 2013, they reached the 3rd Qualifying Round with a resounding 5-1 win at Eastbourne Town. They then went on to defeat Clevedon Town after a replay in that round before finally succumbing to Daventry Town in the 4th and final qualifying round.

This season history has repeated itself as they are once again the last club standing as far as the CCL is concerned and yesterday they made it into this season's 3rd Qualifying Round with a 1-0 win at Southern League Premier side Merthyr Town.

The vital goal came just before the hour mark and it was scored by Zac Horkan. Both sides hit the woodwork after that but Hartley stood strong to the end.

The draw for the next round will be published tomorrow and the whole League will hope they can keep the run going when they play again in a fortnight's time.
