It was eight out of eight for Ashford Town league wise as our current Premier Division leaders erased the memory of the Emirates F.A. Cup defeat at Hoddesdon Town seven days previous. Having already secured a 2-1 home victory over Farnham Town in midweek, Ashford Town entertained Hanworth Villa at Short Lane on Saturday where possibly a narrow scoreline was probably expected as these two unbeaten clubs went head to head in front of a highly impressive attendance of 203 , the highest of the day in the CCL. It ended though 4-1 to the Tangerines, aided by two penalties tucked away by the reliable Mark Bitmead, plus one each from Samad Kazi and Scott Elgar. Jesse Atiasse briefly offered the visitors hope with a goal on 82 minutes but this was a comprehensive win for the Tangerines.

Second placed Hartley Wintney also still boast a 100% league record from their opening six league matches,
thanks to their latest encounter which saw them record a 2-0 home victory against Chessington & Hook United. Goals from Julian Sills on the half hour mark and then Toby Jannaway some 65 minutes in were sufficient to bag a maximum points haul once again and hopefully set them up nicely for their next game which takes them into Wales, to Merthyr Town where the reformed Welsh club stand between them and further Emirates F.A. Cup progress this coming Saturday. The whole of the CCL will wish Hartley the best of luck in this important fixture.

Moving on, I went to Chipstead where it was the turn of one of our new teams in the shape of AFC Hayes to visit hosts Epsom & Ewell. Going in to the game AFC Hayes had bagged just three league points back, on 22nd August against Knaphill and have been finding life quite difficult in their first season in the CCL. Epsom & Ewell, on the other hand, although making early exits from both national competitions had gone undefeated in eight league matches notching up five win from these. Pretty much in charge during the early stages the 'Salts', although under strength on the day, took a 19th minute lead through Mark Farrell and you might have thought this was the start of a fruitless afternoon for the visitors. Wrong though, as, unable to build on this slender lead despite overall creating more chances Epsom paid the price and up popped Josh Quadry to square proceedings which in many ways AFC Hayes deserved.

Two Perry Coles goals, one in each half - the latter being a penalty saw hosts Camberley Town overcome Bedfont Sports at Krooner Park.

A Matt Morris goal made for a happy afternoon for the Knaphill home gathering following victory secured against Colliers Wood United.

Elsewhere Premier Division wise Horley Town secured a very 4-1 victory over at Farnham Town, Raynes Park Vale overcame visitors Badshot Lea by the same score over at Grand Drive, whilst Spelthorne Sports under new manager Steve Flatman came away from Chertsey Town 2-1 winners, thanks to two goals from Conor Moody.

Sutton Common Rovers registered the same score line in their home encounter with Westfield whilst both Cove (second bottom) and Redhill (bottom) both picked up their first points of the season. Cove beat visitors Guildford City 2-0 while Redhill picked up a point in a 2-2 home draw against Windsor.

With Division One leaders C.B.Hounslow not involved in league action Saturday afternoon, Staines Lammas took advantage to inflict a fifth league defeat upon last season's champions Farleigh Rovers over at Laleham, racking up a 6-0 victory thanks in the main to a first half hat-trick from George Olundeye and a couple via Kelvin Karanka. Five up at the break and with the points safely secured by the interval, 'Lammas' eased somewhat in the second period and added just one more goal through Ross Nunn on 65 minutes to make it 6-0 which was how the contest finished up.

Worcester Park, thanks to first half goals from Lee Davison on ten minutes via a converted penalty and Tom Costello twenty five minutes later secured a fairly comfortable 2-0 home win against Dorking Wanderers Reserves.

Our next three placed clubs Eversley & California, Cobham and Epsom Athletic all lost on the afternoon 2-0 at Abbey Rangers, 3-1 at Ash United and 8-1 at home to Bedfont & Feltham respectively. In the latter game Jacob Lambe bagged a treble while Luke Craig and Mick Campbell scored a couple each in addition to a Lewis Sinclair effort, while for Epsom Athletic their sole effort came via Carl Thomas.

Finally Division One wise, Sandhurst Town proved too much for visitors Banstead Athletic racking up a good 4-2 victory and over at South Park afternoon visitors Frimley Green needed just the one goal to secure a maximum points haul from the visit.
