Possible Congestion at Hanworth Villa

Clubs visiting Hanworth Villa during the period of the Rugby World Cup are reminded that there will inevitably be heavy traffic in the area whenever the matches are on. In their wisdom the local Council has decided that the main A316 will be closed on match days in the Twickenham area. You should still be able to use it to reach Hanworth Villa’s ground, before the closure starts, but it is suggested that you allow plenty of time to get to the ground on match days.

The road closures will be in place on match days right through to the Final on Saturday 31 October. Details of the rugby matches taking place at Twickenham can be found at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/es/home/rugby_world_cup/rwc2015_community_impact/rwc2015_transport/rwc2015_roads.htm
along with lots of other information.

Hanworth have already agreed with two of their opponents to bring their Saturday matches forward from the Saturday to the Friday evening, as follows:

Hanworth Villa v Knaphill will now take place on Friday 25 September (7.45 p.m.) instead of Saturday 26 September and Hanworth Villa v Redhill will now be played on Friday 23 October rather than Saturday 24 October.

Where it is impractical for clubs to switch their matches to Fridays, the League has no problem with kick-off times being brought forward or put back as may be mutually agreed between the clubs concerned. Any agreed changes will show on the website as soon as possible.
