Shut Down

League suspended from Sunday 15 March for two weeks

Yesterday there was considerable pressure from certain clubs advocating that the CCL should shut down due to the Coronavirus and two have refused to travel this weekend. Clearly some clubs and individuals did not accept the FA and Government Advice which was, of course, that matches at our level could continue.

Others though have also expressed concern and with that in mind, an emergency Board Meeting took place this morning by videophone and the decision was taken that the League would suspend all matches from Sunday 15th to Saturday 28 March with the situation being kept under constant review.

There will be a further announcement in due course.

The decision applies to all matches played under the auspices of the CCL, including the Under-18's and Under-23's and the Women's competition. It does not apply to games in County and Supplementary Cups as matches in those competition are a matter for the authorities concerned.
