It is not too often that a CCL side reaches the semi-final of the Surrey Senior Cup but Banstead Athletic have managed it this season with a 3-2 win last night over Woking FC.
Whilst the Cards did not field their full first team, this was still a remarkable vioctory for a hard working Banstead side, whose manager James Cameron had reently resigned. Indeed Banstead built up a three goal lead courtesy of strikes from Paolo Giamettei (penalty), Ben Geraghty and Andrew Morrison before Woking scored two late goals.
Banstead have already beaten AFC Wimbledon in the competition and will now be at home to Tooting & Mitcham United in the semi-final.
