FA Cup Action this weekend

19 CCL Clubs involved

Nineteen CCL clubs will be in FA Cup action this weekend, all hoping to reach the 1st Qualifying Round.

They include Holyport FC who have had to do it the hard way, by beating Hartpury University not once but twice. The first match, duly won 2-1 by Holyport, had to be replayed when the FA ordered a replay because the referee had sent a Hartpury player to the sin-bin with three minutes left, apparently not being aware of the rules, which do not permit the use of sin-bins in the FA Cup. He should have simply been cautioned. It left Hartpury a man light for that short period of the game hence the FA decision that the whole match must be re-played. It went well though for Holyport as they won for a second time, by the same scoreline.

The League is certain of two places in the next round, with Jersey playing Knaphill and Horley Town entertaining AFC Croydon Athletic. The latter match will be broadcast live on the BBC iPlayer, Red Button & BBC Sport, which we now understand is a 12.30 p.m. kick-off.
Replays have returned in the FA Cup (unless both clubs in a tie have opted out) and they will take place in midweek next week.
