TRIBUTE TO TONY "OLLIE" ELDRIDGE

We were all extremely saddened to hear of the passing of our club Chairman, Tony "Ollie" Eldridge on Saturday 11th June 2016.

Ollie had not been in the best of health in recent times but he continued regardlessly to serve and support the club. He served our club with pride and with an intense dedication to detail.

At the recent friendly game against Banstead Athletic, Wibbandune just didn't seem the same without his presence and, as can be seen by just a few commentaries received, he was extremely respected at all levels of our wonderful game.

For the club, the situation was exacerbated by the senseless murder of one of our young and up and coming players, Matthew Kitandwe, just a few days later and, of course, we all mourn, along with his family and friends, his sad and premature departure as well.

Ollie would have wanted the club to move forward and, to that end, we have appointed club stalwart, Steve Turner, as our new chairman.

Ollie’s funeral takes place at 2pm Tuesday 26th July 2016 at St. Nicholas Church,High Street, CRANLEIGH, Surrey, GU6 8AS, then to Cranleigh Cemetery
