HANWORTH VILLA CELEBRATE 40 YEARS

STATEMENT FROM CLUB

1, Hanworth Villa FC 40th Anniversary celebrations – we have selected the game on 22nd Oct against Bedfont & Feltham as part of our 40th year celebrations, we have invited our founder Jimmy Connors (not the famous tennis player but the infamous local plumber) to join us and all ex-players to attend the game for a photo before the game and general celebrations afterwards. It is fitting in some ways that we are playing Bedfont & Feltham in this rearranged fixture as when Hanworth Villa started in 1976 the separate teams of Bedfont plus Feltham were the big clubs in the area and we aspired to join them at their level of football and regularly played them in pre-season friendlies.

2, Adam Baigent (pictured) – Current 1st Team Captain will play his 300th competitive fixture for Hanworth Villa FC on the same day. This is something of a milestone for the player and the club and he now joins Steve Loveridge in completing 300 games for the Villa but both are some way short of the 600+ that Terry Buss has played for the club although he is not currently representing Hanworth Villa. There are several older generation players who have also completed a large number of games for the club but these 3 represent the more recent history of the club which really stated when we were accepted within the CC FL and Step 6 football within the pyramid.
