Recently we caught up with the Combined Counties League's top goal scorer, Jake Tabor. The Amersham Town man has netted 46 league goals so far this season, making him the highest goal scorer across all divisions.
Can you tell us a little bit about your footballing journey so far? When did you start playing, how did you get into football?
I started when I was 4 and my dads best mate is Yaya Toure so I played down at Manchester City from the early ages until 13, when I moved down South
As the league is approaching 50% completion, what has been your most memorable moment of the season so far?
Beating rivals Oxhey jets at home scoring a jammy tap in
What is the best ground you have ever played at? (Can be outside of the CCL)
Hillingdon Borough, work of the arts facilities
You’ve only lost two games so far this season, how do you maintain such a high standard week in week out?
We train hard twice a week and have fortnightly VEO analysis sessions
What has been your favourite goal of the season?
I don’t have a favourite as they are all tap ins
How do you and the rest of the team celebrate a win?
Play music & Howard dances for us all
Amersham Town currently occupy the top spot in Division One and are 16 points clear of 2nd place, Yateley United, with a game in hand. Thank you to Jake and the team at Amersham Town for taking the time to answer our questions. Who do you want to hear from next?
