With the exception of the Football Association Challenge Vase, 3rd Round Replay, over at Krooner Park and the Premier Division encounter at Stag Meadow on Tuesday evening, Out & About saw our proposed fixture list for the evening severely disrupted and to deny us seven of the games scheduled due to waterlogged pitches being recorded out and about.

Thankfully though, two games beat the weather including the Football Association Challenge Vase, 3rd Round Replay, over at Krooner Park between hosts Camberley Town and Ascot United from the UHLSPORT Hellenic League, Premier Division. With the draw having been made the day before, F.C. Romania (Essex Senior FL), whom the winners travel to Cheshunt to face on 9th January, no doubt had representatives casting an eye over the game which saw Camberley Town come from behind to record an highly impressive 4-1 victory. Played in front of a good crowd of 240, the visitors struck first on seventeen minutes through Steve Deverell. However, the lead lasted a mere 14 minutes thanks to Perry Coles who, on the night, added an additional two further goals to his tally for the evening along with a Matt Bunyan effort to send the Krooner Park home faithful home truly delighted with their team’s efforts for the evening which we congratulate them hugely upon securing.

Just one other game beat the weather conditions. This was over at Stag Meadow where hosts Windsor inflicted a 4-1 defeat upon visitors Sutton Common Rovers. Amin Khomsi set the hosts on the way with a goal inside the opening four minutes, Travis Richardson-Hodge weighed in with a couple on 37 and 58 minutes and then Barry Dunbar made it 4-0 on 65 minutes. Last goal activity came six minutes later as Mick Debrha scored his first goal for SCR to make it 4-1.

Two games scheduled for Wednesday evening became one as the Surrey County Premier Cup tie due to be played at Chalky Lane between Shene Old Grammarians (Amateur Football Combination FL) and Epsom Athletic fell victim to the weather conditions that we have been subjected to of late meaning that the pitch at Chalky Lane remained waterlogged.

No such problems at the Wibbandune Sports Ground, though, where Colliers Wood United welcomed Division One new boys Dorking Wanderers Reserves for a Third Round Cherry Red Records Premier Challenge Cup match. Progress was on the night secured by the hosts as they racked up a very comfortable 6-0 victory thanks to goals from Adam Snook on 32 minutes followed by a very quick second half effort from Mario Embalo. By the time Joe Meadade it 3-0 on 55 minutes, the Division One boys looked well beaten. However, from then until the 82nd minute, no further scoring had been registered. Anis Nuur then bagged goals 4, 5 and 6 to put the icing on the cake score-wise to make sure a quarter-final place was safely secured.

Saturday Scene 19th December, 2015

With the exception of the Division One game at Chalky Lane involving Epsom Athletic and would be visitors Worcester Park, overall activity on Saturday, 19th December, minus this and the Cove Premier Division fixture that we knew about previously, saw a good return fixture-wise from both Divisions on this the Saturday before Christmas Out & About.

Current Premier Division leaders Hartley Wintney, thanks to a couple of second half goals from Shane Hollanby and Aaron Parfitt, saw off Hanworth Villa and maintained their four point advantage over second placed Ashford Town who, themselves, made the short journey over to AFC Hayes where their trip was hugely profitable goal wise. Mark Bitmead and Jack Beadle both notched up a couple goals each, Bayley Mummery weighed in with one additionally, to overwhelm their hosts by a highly impressive 5-0 scoreline. Epsom & Ewell, thanks to Reisse Griffin, Rob Hendry and Tom Neale goals, ended up 3-1 home winners against Sutton Common Rovers; Arnold Okiror hitting a consolation effort for the visitors just before the end. Bedfont Sports notched up a good 2-1 home win against high flying Camberley Town whilst Horley Town came away from Raynes Park Vale 3-2 winners. Farnham Town made the short trip over to Young’s Drive and secured a 3-1 victory against hosts Badshot Lea and Colliers Wood United, following on from their 6-0 League Cup win this past midweek, ran out 5-2 winners against visitors Knaphill. Guildford City secured a 4-2 home victory against Chertsey Town and then, finally, over at Stag Meadow, hosts Windsor and Spelthorne Sports shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

C.B. Hounslow United remain top of Division One following their latest success which saw new boys Abbey Rangers fall 2-1. Bedfont & Feltham and Eversley & California kept the pressure on C.B. though as both sides recorded wins at Staines Lammas 2-1 and Frimley Green 2-0 respectively. The Dorking Derby part two saw Dorking secure a 2-0 victory over at the New Defence against Dorking Wanderers Reserves whilst Cobham inflicted more woe on last season’s Division One champions Farleigh Rovers following a 3-1 home victory being secured for hosts Cobham. Our final two Division One games saw Sheerwater take the spoils in a 4-2 home victory against Sandhurst Town while, over at South Park Res., a hugely welcome 3-2 victory against Ash United was secured.

A Merry Christmas To You All.
