League Leaders Westfield not slowing up

Just one match was lost to the weather last Saturday, 13 January, and that was at AFC Hayes where a part of the pitch remained in a dangerous condition due to water logging.

Of the games played, Westfield maintained their push for promotion with a 3-0 home win over Abbey Rangers, whilst two of the three chasing pack also won, namely Bedfont Sports, 4-2 at home to Guildford City, and Walton & Hersham, with a 2-0 win at Hanworth Villa. The other main contender at this stage, Sutton Common Rovers, lost ground in a solitary goal defeat at CB Hounslow.

At the bottom, Epsom & Ewell kept their slim hopes of avoiding the drop alive with a 2-1 win at second from bottom, Godalming Town, even though Godalming were the first to score.

Camberley recorded their 14th league draw of the season at Redhill, both sides scoring one apiece.

In Division One, leaders Worcester Park showed incredible spirit at home to Frimley Green, winning 4-3 after being three down.

In the Esoteric Div One Cup, Sheerwater completed the 2nd Round with a 5-2 home success over Farleigh Rovers and will now entertain Eversley & California in the 3rd Round (Quarter Final) on Saturday 10 February.
