RIP Mike Bidmead

We have learnt of the sad loss of Mike Bidmead, who sadly died on 20 July. Mike was the Secretary and Chief Executive of the Suburban League for many years and many of our clubs will have known him.

Mike began his career in football as a referee, officiating in the old First Division and in Europe, and he also spent time at Woking Football Club before joining Sutton.

He is best known though for nigh on 40 years at the helm of the Suburban League, where he was Chief Executive until a couple of years ago.

The League's condolences go to his wife Val, also a stalwart of the Suburban League, and to Mike's family.
