Bank Holiday Monday was a great day for Hartley Wintney as they increased their dominance at the top of the table by defeating Farnham Town 2-0 in front of 165 spectators, a goal in each half doing the job against a Farnham side now without a win in six.

The gap at the top increased to 16 points as Westfield suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat at home to Chertsey, who now climb 6 points above the relegation zone. Hanworth Villa replace Westfield in 2nd place after their convincing 4-0 win away to Bedfont & Feltham. The Villains were three goals up inside 20 minutes of that game, with a second half Atiase strike the icing on the cake.

There are now three sides well adrift of safety, with Raynes Park Vale one of them after a 4-0 defeat at Horley Town – Vale have now gone eleven league games without a win. Badshot Lea join them in relegation trouble after a 2-0 home defeat against Camberley left them six points from Chertsey. Badshot Lea’s recent form has been decent however and they will still believe they cans secure safety this season.

Sutton Common Rovers climbed a point further to safety with a 1-1 draw against Epsom & Ewell, an early goalkeeping error from the visitors cancelled out ten minutes from time.

Arguably the most entertaining game of the day came at Stompond Lane where Walton & Hersham took a 4-2 win over Knaphill, a couple of goals from Sean White on his debut helping the Swans to victory.

Abbey Rangers picked up a 3-2 win at Guildford City with their winning goalscorer being sent off just minutes after the goal. The result means Abbey Rangers are now undefeated in four.

In a Sports vs Sports local derby in Spelthorne it was the home side who picked up the points, with Bedfont defeated 2-1. Elsewhere in the Combined Counties Premier League North Greenford defeated CB Hounslow 3-0 and AFC Hayes secured a 1-0 win over Windsor.

There were just two fixtures in Division One on Monday, with Chessington & Hook moving into the promotion spots after a 5-0 win at Dorking, a game in which the visitors dominated completely. The other game in the division saw Worcester Park held to a 1-1 draw against Farleigh Rovers after coming from behind to snatch a point.
