The FITB cameras were at Chertsey on Tuesday to capture a 4-3 thriller: visitors Horley Town victorious. The relegation threatened home side had taken a 2 goal lead early on but ended up 2 goals behind before clawing one back late in the game. Unfortunately for Chertsey things got worse as all three of the sides below them picked up results.

Just when it looked like they were in deep trouble Bedfont & Feltham picked up a great 3-1 win over CB Hounslow, keeping them within four points of safety, new manager Aaron Morgan getting off to the perfect start there.

Raynes Park Vale nicked a last gasp goal to draw with Epsom & Ewell, a strong result given that the hosts went into the game in 5th place. Badshot Lea also nicked a point in impressive style, from 2 goals down at half time against runaway leaders Hartley Wintney to snatching a 2-2 draw.

Westfield failed to capitalise on this slip up however as them and Walton & Hersham cancelled each other out in another 2-2 draw. 3rd place Hanworth Villa also had to settle for a point at home to lowly AFC Hayes – it was very nearly worse for the Villains as Hayes took the lead with 10 minutes to go only for Levi King to equalise with a free kick just a minute later.

With so many draws in the league Camberley’s convincing 5-1 home win against Farnham moved them up to 10th place, above Windsor who could only draw 1-1 at home to Knaphill. That game was played in front of a fantastic crowd of 477, with the majority of spectators leaving in good spirits after a stoppage time penalty, scored by Kieran Knight, ensured the home side claimed a point.

There were plenty of goals at Abbey Rangers as they went a goal down early on against Spelthorne Sports before eventually winning 4-3. Two late goals from Spelthorne ensured a nervous finish but the home side held on to move the side into 13th place and above North Greenford, who were defeated at Bedfont Sports by a 1-0 scoreline, an own goal deciding that one.

The main story of the day in Division One was a bizarre incident documented on Twitter in the Redhill vs Worcester Park game. Having been awarded a penalty Kieran Campbell was not allowed to take it by his teammates and was subsequently sent off by the referee, presumably for foul and abusive language. His side still picked up a 2-1 win though, with that vital penalty being scored. The defeat was Worcester Park’s first in the league since early October.

The gap at the top is now just 4 points as Banstead drew 1-1 against AC London in what was technically an away fixture.

At the bottom of the table Cove picked up a rare win, 2-1 against Dorking, to take them above Epsom Athletic who weren’t in action. The win ended a 12 game winless streak for Cove.

The biggest victory margin came at Frimley Green, who were hammered 6-0 against Eversley & California. The score was 3-0 after just 25 minutes as the away side ran riot in front of a large crowd.

Bagshot’s downturn in form continued with a 5-3 home defeat against Ash United, who now sit in 11th place in the table. Elsewhere in Division One Cobham secured a 3-2 win away to Farleigh Rovers and Sheerwater beat Staines Lammas 3-0.
