Step 4/5 Inter-Step Play-Off fixtures – 2022/23 season

By Chris Conlon

• The FA announces fixtures for the Step 4/5 Inter-Step Play-Off Matches • Clubs at Steps 4 and 5 will battle it out for a ‘winner takes all’ place at Step 4 for the 2023/24 season • Fixtures are to take place at the ground of the Step 4 Clubs on Saturd

Firstly, our thanks are extended to Clubs for their patience in awaiting the Step 4/5 Inter-Step Play-Off (ISPO) fixture list. The draw had been delayed as the results of several league fixtures played on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th impacted this and there were also three ground grading appeals heard today that had the potential to impact the draw.

The FA can now confirm fixtures for the Inter-Step Play-Offs with Clubs playing for the right to be allocated at Step 4 for the 2023/24 season.

The Regulations set out that there are sixteen fixtures - all Step 4 Clubs finishing 4th and 3rd from bottom hosting matches against all 2nd-placed Step 5 Clubs – however, following the news that three Clubs had failed ground grading inspections, three Clubs are reprieved at Step 4 (these are divisional reprieves in accordance with previous seasons) and three Clubs at Step 5 are therefore automatically promoted to Step 4 for the 2023/24 season (the three with the highest Points Per Game), with only 13 fixtures being required.

A Sub-Committee of The FA’s Alliance and Leagues Committee’s met to agree the grouping and pairing of Clubs for these matches and can confirm these to be as follows:

SATURDAY 30 APRIL 2022 – 3.00

1 Bristol Manor Farm FC v Saltash United FC
2 Highworth Town FC v Malvern Town FC
3 VCD Athletic FC v Phoenix Sports FC
4 Sutton Common Rovers FC v Crawley Down Gatwick FC
5 Merstham FC v Egham Town FC
6 Haywards Heath Town FC v Redbridge FC
7 Lincoln United FC v Avro FC
8 Glossop North End FC v Ashington FC
9 Dereham Town FC v Stotfold FC
10 St Neots Town FC v Lye Town FC
11 Coggeshall Town FC v Winterton Rangers FC
12 Great Wakering Rovers FC v Quorn FC
13 Barton Rovers FC v Thetford Town FC

The FA and Leagues extend their good luck to all competing Clubs in what should be an exciting ‘final curtain call’ and hope that supporters of NLS football attend in their droves to these and any NLS League Play-Offs in the coming weeks.
