Bedfont Sports Last Man Standing

The League’s involvement this season is hanging by a thread following the disappointing defeats suffered by Abbey Rangers, Knaphill and Sutton Common Rovers this last weekend.

Just Bedfont Sports are left, thanks to a fighting 2-2 draw at high riding Sussex club, Crowborough Athletic on Saturday. In front of 174 spectators, Sports, despite missing a number of regulars, went ahead on 10 minutes through Conor Moody, only for the home side to equalise and then take the lead before half-time. Despite losing a men sent off and having a strong penalty appeal turned down, Bedfont chased the equaliser doggedly and got the goal that mattered five minutes from the end through Bradley Wilson.

The tie will now be decided on Wednesday evening in a replay at Bedfont Sports, kick-off 7.45 p.m. It would be good to see as many CCL supporters as possible turning out to cheer the Eagles on with a 4th Round tie at home to Eastbourne Town beckoning for the winners.
