From Press Secretary Neil Morrell

With the promotion race hotting up following the news that Hartley Wintney cannot be promoted, it would now seem to be between Ashford Town, Camberley and Epsom & Ewell for the now all important second place.

Inspired by a couple of recent good results Windsor welcomed Hartley Wintney to Stag Meadow spurred on by recent good results that have lifted them into the top half of the league table . However, three goals without reply secured the win for the visitors.

Second Placed Ashford Town travelled to Horley Town where scouts were watching Horley striker Ashley Nadesan. They were doubtless impressed as he scored two of Horley’s three goals in a 3-2 victory, although the match ended in controversy when Ashford “scored” in stoppage time with the scores level at two apiece, only for the assistant referee not to give the goal, apparently unsighted. With confusion reigning, Horley went straight down the field and it was they rather than their visitors who notched a third goal. There was further controversy when Ashford were awarded a very soft penalty, now some 9 minutes into stoppage time, which Mark Bitmead hit over the bar.

Third placed Epsom & Ewell followed up their good 3-0 win over at Raynes Park Vale last Thursday evening by securing a 5-1 victory at Guildford City in a match where initial selection problems in goal initially caused a certain amount of concern. Thankfully though come end of play this looked to have been forgotten as the 'Salts' made the most of their trip over to the Spectrum.

Fourth placed Camberley Town were also on the road Saturday afternoon - destination Chertsey
Town, where three goals from Perry Coles plus a late clincher from Matt Bunyan ensured a 4-1 victory.

Slipping down to sixth spot are Hanworth Villa who were beaten 4-0 at Woking Park by a hard working Westfield team.

Hat-Trick hero Bradley Hand saw AFC Hayes overcome second bottom Redhill, whilst at Cove the basement side secured their third league victory of the season as they recorded a 1-0 victory against Sutton Common Rovers and there was a similar result for Knaphill following their trip to Raynes Park Vale.

Hosts Badshot Lea also went down to visitors Bedfont Sports by the same scoreline and finally Premier Division wise the game at Colliers Wood United and Farnham Town ended up a 2-2 draw.

In Division One leaders C.B.Hounslow hold a five point advantage over 2nd placed Abbey Rangers,
as they came away from Eversley & California a point better having secured a 2-2
draw on their travels.

Abbey Rangers entertained Ash United and secured a 3-1 victory, whilst in an ever tighter race, Bedfont & Feltham are third, following a narrow 2-1 home win against Sheerwater.

Luckless Worcester Park again found themselves on the wrong end of a result as they went down 2-1 at home to Banstead Athletic.

South Park Reserves occupy bottom spot despite coming away from Sandhurst Town with a 1-1 draw under their belt, whilst just above them Dorking Wanders reserves went down 3-1 at home to Staines Lammas.

With football finally taking place again at Chalky Lane Epsom Athletic were 1-0 home winners against Dorking securing their fifth league win of the season. Farleigh Rovers like Epsom Athletic yielded a maximum points haul having secured a creditable 2-0 home win against Frimley Green.
