Virtually Full Programme on Monday 28 December Most matches kick-off at 11.30 a.m. but check with Fixtures List

The League has a virtually full set of fixtures over the Christmas holiday, all taking place on Monday 28 December.

The tradition over many years in the CCL is that bank holiday matches kick off at 11.30 a.m. in the morning, which is sometimes popular with ground hoppers who can then get to a second match in the afternoon. Clubs though are allowed to vary the kick-off time by mutual consent, which a few have done and the actual kick-off times can be seen within the Fixtures section of the site.

The stand out match in the Premier Division is undoubtedly Camberley Town v Hartley Wintney, who are meeting for the first time this season, as both go hell for leather for promotion. There is just 8 miles between the clubs. Camberley suffered an unexpected defeat at the revitalised Bedfont Sports last Saturday whilst Hartley still have just one league defeat to their name all season, that coming at the hands of Badshot Lea. Camberley though have home advantage on this occasion which can be a significant factor at Krooner Park.

Second place Ashford Town (Mx) have a home match against Windsor and both teams will be coming into the match in generally good form, especially Ashford who scored three goals in six minutes at the end a fortnight ago to beat Guildford City and then followed it up with a 5-0 win at local rivals AFC Hayes last week. Windsor dropped points when they allowed Spelthorne to equalise right at the death last Saturday but they had won their previous two against Horley and SCR respectively. This one kicks off at 1.00 p.m.

The other clash involving teams near the top of the table sees 5th placed Horley Town entertaining 3rd place Epsom & Ewell, who themselves have lost just the one league match all season, albeit with a number of drawn games.

Other interesting matches include the local derby between Hanworth Villa and Bedfont Sports, the latter now under the management of ex-Spelthorne boss Paul Johnson. We also have the “Woking” derby between Knaphill and Westfield, which can be expected to be close, one would think. Kick-off at Knaphill is 12.30.

All the remaining matches can be seen in the Fixtures section.

In Division One, it’s 1st v 3rd as CB Hounslow entertain Bedfont & Feltham at the ground shared by both sides. CB Hounslow have an 8-point advantage but Bedfont & Feltham have three matches in hand. 4th placed Eversley & California make the short trip to Sandhurst but 2nd placed Worcester Park are without a match, their original game having been brought forward.

The League wishes everyone involved with our superb competition a merry Christmas and a happy New Year and acknowledges the work of so many people, including assessors, match officials, league and club officials and indeed supporters and spectators and others at clubs who do so much to help the competition run smoothly.
