Manager departs

From NGU web site:

In recent league matches up to and including last Tuesday the First Team earned just 3 points from their last 5 games leaving the club second from bottom in the CCL Premier League.

In view of this situation, it was reluctantly agreed at our committee meeting last Thursday to part company with Ricky Pither and Mark Chandler, and their coaches Chris Mills and Alfie Patterson. We appreciate and are extremely grateful for the time and effort they have all put in since taking over this time last year in what was a very difficult and challenging situation and, despite being relegated, had no hesitation in asking the team to continue in their management role at the start of the new season.

However, these recent results and our current league position meant we felt a change of management was definitely needed and Assistant Reserve team manager Terry Schofield was asked to take temporary charge of the team on Saturday while that change was being finalised. We will issue a further statement when that has taken place.

We once again thank Ricky, Mark, Chris and Alfie for all their efforts and the contribution they have made to the club, and wish them every success in the future.
